A fighting style, also called a spec, is a second move set beside your Stand. Clear your current style before a trainer will teach the next one.
Trainers
| Style | Bring | Trainer |
|---|---|---|
| Boxing | Level 10, $10,000, Quinton's Glove | Quinton, near the Arcade |
| Hamon | Level 10 and about $10,000 to $11,000, plus that variant's item | Lisa Lisa |
| Pluck | Level 10, $10,000, Ancient Scroll | Uzurashi |
| Spin | Level 10, $10,000, Steel Ball | Gyro Zeppeli at Eli's Pizzeria |
| Vampirism | Vampire race, level 10, $10,000 | Elder Vampire Roomy, sewer hideout |
Hamon is four lessons, not one move list:
- William A. Zeppeli uses Zeppeli's Hat for $10,000. It is the mobility lesson.
- Joseph Joestar uses Clackers for $10,000. It is the ranged lesson.
- Jonathan Joestar uses an Ancient Scroll for $11,000. A Hamon guide says this lesson wants the Pluck sword as well, bought from the sword seller for another $1,000.
- Caesar Zeppeli uses Caesar's Headband for $10,000. It is the crowd-control lesson.
The Ancient Scroll is also the item named for Pluck at Uzurashi. Buy and use it at the trainer you actually want. Do not assume one scroll unlocks both.
How they play
Boxing is the close-range style with extra defense. It is the usual first spec if your Stand already has the damage.
Hamon is charge-based and is the style called out for fighting vampires. It pairs with close Stands that need a damage buff more than another projectile.
Spin throws Steel Balls, manages a charge, and is mandatory for Tusk's later acts. If Tusk Act 4 is the plan, learn Spin before you spend the Left Arm or the Pelvis.
Pluck is the sword. It is the gap-close style.
Vampirism drains health, freezes, and spends a blood meter. Sunlight burns you while you are a vampire. That is a travel problem, not just a duel problem.
Resetting
Two documented resets:
- A Rokakaka removes the style and your Stand.
- Matt, by the exit of the cosmetic shop where Greed and Fang are, resets the style for 3 Diamonds and $5,000.
Resetting Vampirism does not make you human. You still burn in the sun. The notes say the Jesus NPC is the turn-back, and becoming human also removes the vampire style.
Style-item skins for Pluck and Steel Ball have shown up as limited holiday shop stock. They are cosmetic. They do not change the trainer requirements.
